This is Millwall Sweden
An introduction.

That Swedish people follow Millwall FC might seem as odd as millions of Asians wear David Beckham shirts. However, there are some logical explanations.
Since 1969 English league football have been broadcasted on Swedish television. In the beginning the recorded matches were flown to Sweden after the games and was therefore broadcasted late Saturday evening. This can be compared with the situation today, when up to five matches can be seen on Swedish television every weekend. TV4, a Swedish 'basic' channel, broadcasts one Nationwide Division 1 game every Saturday that is partly decided by the viewers. The excellent choice of football games has led to that the interest and knowledge of English football is great in Sweden.
Even though Arsenal and Manchester Utd are the most popular clubs, you will find fans' of other clubs as Leyton Orient, Rochdale and Brighton & Hove Albion in Sweden.
Before Teddy Sheringham made himself a name at Millwall he was loaned to a Swedish club where he made a success, for instance he was a part of a very high profile play-off game. Sheringham is probably the single one player who is the most well known and so has given Millwall FC the most positive PR in Sweden.
The supporters club, just named 'Millwall Sweden', was founded during the 2002/03 season to easier reach out and distribute news and information to the Swedish fans. With the help of our web page, member magazine, and specific newsletters the desired audience is reached. During 2003/04 we had 85 members and the number and interest is growing.
At times when Millwall matches are shown on Swedish television we arrange get-togethers in pubs to watch the game. Apart from this the intention is to organize at least one member trip to London per season.
In the supporters club's missions it states that any possible economic profit should fall to the Millwall Youth Academy - it is also clearly stated that the club is to support Millwall with a positive spirit and so takes distance from racism and violence.
Already before the supporters club was founded (17/09/02) Lucy Pepper, Deano Standing and Andrea at the Millwall Press Office were very helpful, forthcoming and supportive. Without them this would not be possible.
