Steve McClaren om matchen i Makedonien
Steve hyllar laget och framförallt defensiven efter den tredje raka vinsten under ny ledning.

Ett mål i 46:e minuten av Peter Crouch säkrade seger mot de svårslagna Makedonerna och McClaren var riktigt nöjd efter matchen.
"It was just as we expected,"
"We looked at Macedonia and knew they would be a very good team, very strong at home, and they were.
"It was a test of the team tonight and the team came through. Teams win football matches away from home in Europe and we won it because we played as a team. We defended magnificently and deprived them of any clear cut chances and got the defining moment.
"We knew we would have to defend very well, we needed a second goal and it didn’t happen and we knew we would come under pressure at the end. But we withstood that and got our result. In football whether we’re England or whoever winning football matches is the most important thing."
McClaren kunde inte undvika att visa hur förtjust han är över Peter Crouch senaste prestationer då han gjort fem mål på tre matcher under sin nya landslagstränare.

"He leads the line well. He took a lot of stick tonight and was unfortunate with decisions from the referee all game but he stuck at his task and he took his opportunity very well.
Dessutom kunde han heller inte unvika att säga några väl valda om “Captain fantastic”, John Terry som än en gång ledde Englands defensiv på ett superbt sätt:
"John Terry’s partnership with Rio was phenomenal and had to be. He led by example and I’m delighted for him in his first away game as captain."
