The Noise, The Reality, and The Soul of Celtic

Eve of the Cup Tie vs Dundee | February 2026

It is easy to look at the league table today and feel the anxiety. With Hearts setting the pace and Rangers sitting above us, the pressure is real. Add in the injury list and the ongoing silence from the North Curve—where the Green Brigade’s absence leaves a undeniable void in our atmosphere—and it is understandable why the fanbase is fractured.

But as we prepare for Dundee, and with a massive Europa League tie against Stuttgart on the horizon, I want to cut through the noise.

I speak as a passionate fan, but also as a business owner who looks for patterns in leadership. While many argue the Board is out of touch, I see a ship that is finally correcting its course.

The Strategic Shift

The Nancy experiment was a failure; we all know that. But look at the response. The executives responsible were removed. In bringing back Martin O'Neill, the Board didn’t just hire a manager; they restored a standard.

In the January window, we didn't just panic-buy. We secured five new signings, with Julian Araujo and Tomas Cvancara already proving they have the mettle for this fight. Crucially, we rejected massive bids for Arne Engels. That is a statement of intent: financial health is important, but retaining our best talent is non-negotiable.

The Soul of the Club

However, strategy means nothing without the people.

I remember my first trips from Dublin to Glasgow in the 90s. I thought I knew hardship, but the East End opened my eyes. Decades later, that reality persists for many.

I recently traveled to the Atalanta game in Bergamo. I ended up drinking with a group of lads who go to every single away match. These aren't corporate guests. These are guys sleeping five to a room to afford the trip. I watched them discreetly pulling cheap cans of lager from their pockets because the bar prices were out of reach.

They spend every spare penny they have to follow Celtic. They are the heartbeat of this club. They deserve a Board that understands their sacrifice, not just their ticket revenue.

The Call to Arms

We can debate the politics, the bans, and the boardroom decisions all week. But on matchday, those debates must wait.

The squad is fighting. The manager knows what it means to win. And the fans—whether in the corporate boxes or counting coins for a pint in Bergamo—all want the same thing.

Let’s get behind the team against Dundee. Let’s make the noise that is missing. We can resolve the arguments later; right now, there is a cup to win.

Hail Hail.
